Ice Road & Ice Bridge Construction Services

Our ice road construction equipment utilizes numerous high volume flood pumps to build ice quickly, keeping your project on schedule and on budget. This equipment is mounted inside of heated enclosed trailers, allowing us to operate reliably in some of the most severe temperatures and winds that are encountered on open ice. These ice road construction trailers allow us to move quickly between auger holes while flooding, as there is minimal equipment that needs to be moved by hand. Not only does this speed up production, it also reduces operator fatigue and potential lifting/slipping hazards.

Prior to flooding any ice, our snowcats can be used to clear snow off the existing ice where the ice road, ice bridge, or drill pads will be constructed. Snow berms are then built to contain the water while flooding. During the ice construction phase or afterwards while the roads are in use, our snowcats can be used for road maintenance to plow wind drifts and new snowfall.

Once ice construction is completely finished, Arctic Storm can provide experienced personnel to monitor the ice for cracking, freeboard, and signs of stress or overloading while the ice road or pad is in use.

Benefits of our Ice Road Construction Equipment:

  • High volume flood pumps for fast ice construction.
  • All equipment is mounted and stored inside heated trailers for reliability in severe weather.
  • Fully equipped with top of the line ice specialty equipment.
  • 360 degree LED flood lighting for safe 24 hour operations.
  • Trailer mounted flood pumps reduces potential lifting/slipping injuries associated with conventional flood pumps.
  • Increased productivity by being able to move between auger holes quickly.
  • Safety gear for working on ice included, as well as safe work procedures and ice safety plans.
